We received a lot of great comments about our original Cauldron’s Court, including the suggestion of creating a larger version. The result is out Cauldron’s Court Expanded version with more room for buildings and accessories. The dimension is 38” wide (compared to the original version at 32” wide) by 45 ½” deep (compared to the original version at 19 1/2” wide). The display comes in 2 pieces for easy storage.
The platform works well as a stand alone but there will be other platforms available that can connect to it to form an even larger display.
This display holds 9 to 11 buildings. The cobblestone area where the front 4 buildings will sit is 8” x 8”, and the other 2 behind them are 7” x 8”. For the larger buildings, the corner cobblestone areas in the rear are 11” x 8” and the center area is 11" x 11". In the center of the display is an open area where you can create a “town square” with a cemetery behind it. The cemetery is adjustable so you can make it smaller (or even remove it entirely) and make a larger town square.
For the cemetery, we use our “Open Grave” system. Each grave is carved out of the display (you can literally stick you finger into the grave), and can assume one of the following positions:
Position 1: The grave is open. The walls and bottom of the graves are painted with a brown earth tone. You can pile a bit of the dark brown ground cover next to the grave to make it look as though it has just been dug up. Or you can put a small amount of the other ground cover into the bottom of the grave to make it look like it has been dug up for a while.
Position 2: Someone has just been buried. Using the insert with the brown earth tone facing up, place the insert into the grave, and cover it over with some of the darker brown ground cover. Make a little mound on top. This makes it look like someone has just been buried (like you see in the movies). Of course no one stays buried forever in this cemetery. Alternatively, you can make a more modern grave by keeping the brown ground cover flat.
Position 3: Make the grave disappear. Using the insert that has been painted with the green earth tone, place the insert into the grave, and cover it over with some of the mixed ground cover. This will make the grave disappear so that you can use this space for other accessories.
As with all of our Halloween displays:
Please Note: Our displays are shown with Dept 56 and Lemax building and accessories. However buildings and accessories are just for presentation purposes only. No Dept 56 or Lemax items are include with the platforms unless otherwise noted.
