Visiting amusement parks have long been a tradition during the summer, but since the late 1980s to early 1990s, visiting them during the Halloween season has become a tradition as well. They are open on weekends during October, their lampposts are covered in corn stalks, spooky music come from the speaker system, scary costume characters are walking around frightening people, and when it gets dark they outline all the sidewalks with lit jack-o-lanterns. Ok, the last part I did make up, but it would cool if they did. It is safe to say, amusement parks definitely have the Halloween spirit.

This platform is designed for all six of the Dept 56 amusement park rides (Ghostly Carousel, Scaredy Cat Ferris Wheel, Spinning Pumpkins, Swinging Ghoulies, Fun House, and the Witch Ride). There is even room for a 7th corresponding piece such as the Haunted Tower Tours (every amusement park needs a haunted attraction, right?) or the Monster Statues. The Lemax Spookytown Amusement rides and accessories also would work well on the display.

One of the best features of our design is the flexibility of where the rides can be placed on the display. The Ghostly Carousel, Spinning Pumpkins, or the Fun House can be placed in either the center cobblestone area, or the two corner cobblestone areas. The Scaredy Cat Ferris Wheel can be placed in either of the two rectangular areas along the back. The Witch’s Ride, Swinging Ghoulies, or the Haunted Tower Tour can be placed in either of the two rectangular cobblestone areas along the back or the two square cobblestone areas in the front. With the display holding seven attractions, there is a surprising number of unique ways to display the pieces.

Spreads throughout the display are 12 locations specifically designs for accessories with battery packs. Using the systems we developed, the excess wires are located under are display so they are not seen. This keeps the magical illusion of the village intact. These spaces can be used for other accessories as well.  

Features of this Halloween display platform include:

• The pathways, staircases, walls, and area around the building are all hand-carved.
• The pathways curve around and between the rides, with 3 staircases along the front used as the entrances/exits. There are also multiple staircases connecting the paths to the rides.
• The rear stone wall provides higher elevation for the 5 rides in the back and adds another level of dimension to the display.
• Along the front of the display, a straight stone wall with a straight pathway in front. This is a common feature to all of our display platforms. Between the front pathway and front wall, there are places for up to eight lampposts (if you don’t want that many or any along the front, the places for the lampposts can be covered over with the ground cover so they disappear). We have a great way of displaying the lamppost so they are very easy to put up and all the wires are hidden from view
• Along the rear stone wall, places for up to four additional lampposts (again, if you don’t want that many lampposts, or any lampposts at all, the places for the lampposts can be covered over with the ground cover so they disappear).

As with all of our Halloween displays:

• The ground cover is green with seasonal fall colors blended in (reds, orange, yellow, brown, and tan). An extra amount of the ground cover and each accent color is included with the display so you can customize the amount of fall colors that you want on the ground.
• One of the best features: The electrical wires for the buildings and accessories run under the display, and out of view.
