Welcome to The Shops at Patricia’s Place. Spending time at Patrica's Place is always a delightful time. The platform coordinates with all of the other platforms in the Snow Flake series. Simply slide one platform next to the other, in any order to create a larger display area.
The buildings are located around the three sides of the platform, facing the center. The area where the buildings will sit have a cobblestone front and a snow covered back. Because the cobblestone extends out, you can create a courtyard in front of each building. For those who have the Christmas in the City collection, you can simply sprinkle some snow (extra snow is included with the platform) on top of the cobblestone, filling in the space between the cobblestones, to make it look like snow-covered pavement.
The center of the platform is the main feature or focal point. We created a frozen creek/pond that is rectangular, with space on each side for a bridge to go over the creek. If you don’t want use four bridges, you can place a park bench or something else in any of the areas (the platform doesn’t include any bridges or park benches). The front two frozen ponds are designed for ice skaters. Having the beautiful bridges as the background with the ice skaters is the inspiration for the platform. Because the frozen creek/pond loops around, an island is formed in the center. This is big enough for a building (perhaps a church) or you could make it into a park with a lit Christmas tree in the center.
Additional middle sections are available to make the platform wider. Each section is 22” wide (from left to right), and will hold an additional two or three buildings (depending on the size of the buildings) along the back, plus five to six buildings in the center island. With the addition on a middle section, there are locations for up to six bridges.
Features of this display include:
We strongly suggest purchasing our display stands or creating you own. The stands raises the display four inches off your table or counter, so the power cords and wires can be located under the display instead of coming out the sides or back, ruining the magical look of your village. We also offer skirting in a season pattern to go around the platform to hide the display stands, battery packs and wires.
Please Note: Our displays are shown with Dept. 56 and Lemax building and accessories. However buildings and accessories are just for presentation purposes only. No Dept. 56 or Lemax items are include with the platforms unless otherwise noted.
Patricia's Place platform shown without any buildings or accessories. The rectangular holes in the snow are for the buildings. The rectangular holes in the cobblestone are for the street lamps.
Shown is the platform finished using Dickens's village buildings and accessories (building and accessories not included). This view is looking eye-level to the platform.
This view is from a high angle looking down. From this view you can see the buildings facing in, with the cobblestone all around the center frozen pond.
This angle is directly above the platform. Notice you see none of the wiring for the buildings or accessories.
Right side view of the platform. We placed park benches around the frozen pond and used stone bridges over the creek. There are places for lamp posts on either side of the bridge.
The front left portion of the frozen pond. We used a couple of different types of trees (pine trees and birch trees of varying height).
