There is one of theses in every town. A dilapidated old house set back from the street. Once grand and beautiful, now it is a shell of its former self. Over-grown trees and bushes cover much of the view of the house, the driveway all but gone save for a few patches of crushed stones, creaking porch floor boards, broken railings and posts, shutters swaying in the wind, gutters falling down. The house seems to live in the shadows, and no one seems to live there as far back as anyone can remember. But of course, who would want to live there?
The urban myths about these houses are usually very similar. An old couple who didn’t have any children owned the house and at some point the house fell into disrepair. The wife passes on, and then the husband, not wanting to live without her, decides to leave her remains in the house (or buries her somewhere on the grounds). Eventually he dies as well, and now both spirits haunt the house. Of course, someone knows someone who had a cousin of a friend who went to explore the house one night, and was never seen again.
It is houses like this that was the inspiration for this platform.
