This isn’t your typical cemetery. With three levels and an innovated design, you can create an incredible Halloween graveyard scene. The stone walls of the various levels make a great backdrop for the tombstones (see pictures), and there is also enough room for a small building.
The most innovative feature, and it is where this display platform gets its name, the display has open graves spread throughout the 3 levels. The open graves are actually carved into the display. Each grave can assume one of 3 positions:
Position 1: The grave is open. The walls and bottom of the graves are painted with a brown earth tone. You can pile a bit of the dark brown ground cover next to the grave to make it look as though it has just been dug up. Or you can put a small amount of the other ground cover into the bottom of the grave to make it look like it has been dug up for a while. Also, you can place a coffin or skeleton in the grave for a great feature.
Position 2: Someone has just been buried. Using the insert included with the platform, place the insert into the grave, and cover it over with some of the dark brown ground cover. Make a little mound on top. This makes it look like someone has just been buried (like you see in the movies). Of course no one stays buried forever in this cemetery.
Position 3: Make the grave disappear. Place the insert into the grave, and cover it over with some of the green ground cover. This will make the grave disappear so that you can use this space for other accessories.
With the flexibility of having different types of graves (some open, some where someone has been freshly buried, and others hidden), in addition to the stone walls as the backdrop and your own graveyard accessories, you create a truly unique cemetery display.
As with all of our Halloween displays:

Black Cat Crossing was our very first design, and today is still one of our most popular Halloween display platform. It designed for a larger building such as Grimsly Manor, Haunted Mansion or even the Ghoul School, but smaller buildings will work as well. With a center walkway leading up to the front door and a wrap around stone wall, the display offers a classic Halloween look. There is ample space in front and side yard for accessories.
This display is designed for Grimsly Manor and the garage, but will work for other houses as well (instead of the garage, place the hot rod car or another vehicle in the driveway). The driveway begins on the right side of the display by the sidewalk, crosses over the front of the house, and ends up in the left corner. By the garage area is a pond with the water tinted to look very murky.

Here we have a coffin half in the grave, as if the undertaker is burying the coffin or taking it out.
Front steps leading up to the next elevation.
Pumpkins used extensively throughout the cemetery.
Another view of the coffin sticking out of the grave. We use wood fence sections and stone pillars. Unfortunately the company who made the stone pillars is out of business.
